KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to the fight against tuberculosi (TB), still the second most deadly infectious disease in the world. KNCVis an international center of expertise for TB control that promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable tuberculosis control strategies in a National and International context. We are also the lead partner in Challange TB (CTB) the new USAID funded 5 year global program to decrease Tb Mortality and moridity in high burdened countries.
For the Challenge TB program in Nigeria, KNCV is currently recruiting to fill the following positions:
Position 1: Programmatic Management of DR-TB (PMDT) Technical Advisor.
Locations: Lagos, Kano and Cross Rivers States - Nigeria.
Job Description:
This is a technical position. The successful candidate is expected to:
Coordinate PMDT ativities in the state
Monitor the diagnosis and notification of drug resistant (DR-TB) patient
The work up of DRTB patients before enrolment on treatment
Enrolment of DR-TB patients on treatment in the community
Ensure uninterrupted supply of 2nd line drugs to DR-TB patients on ambulatory treatment using existing channels
Pharmacovigilance
Proper documentation of the records of DR-TB patients on ambulatory treatment, treatment outcomes
Promote DR-Tb prevention and infection control
Strengthen collaboration platform and linkages for regular follow up clinic visits and lab evals
Promote and support effective coordination and referrals of patients for ambulatory and hospital based DR-TB management responsible for the Senior Program Manager at the Regional Office.
Qualifications/Requirements:
An MBBS degree with 3-5 years working experience
MPH degree will be an added advantage
3yrs working experience with: HIV and TB/DR-TB program at various levels: USAID projects and/or any development partner
Strong Coordination, planning and supervisory skills
Competent with project implementation at state and local Government areas
Experience working at community Level
Experience working with non-project staff (Govt or Private healthcare workers)
Excellent written and verbal english language skills
Self starter, team player, dynamic, solid, open, flexible, absolute integrity, organizational awareness, understanding of cultural differences
Position 2: Assistant Technical Officer (Nurse).
Locations: Lagos, Kano and Cross Rivers States - Nigeria.
Job Description:
This is a technical position. The successful candidate is expected to:
Monitor initiation of enrollment for ambulatory DR-TB treatment
Adverse effects through quality baseline and regular follow up clinic and lab evals
Strengthen DR-Tb prevention and infection control by ensuring daily DOT and contact investigation
Promote patient centered care
Social support and adherence to tretament
The officer is responsible to the PMDT Technical Advisor
Qualifications/Requirements:
RN
BSc in Nursing or Community health care or Public healthcare qualifications are an added advantage
5 years or more working experience
At least 3 years work experience with: HIV and TB/DR-TB program at various levels: USAID projects and/or any developement partner
Experience in DR-TB patient initiation and monitoring of treatment
Experience with community interventions
Excellent written and verbal english language skills
Self starter, team player, dynamic, solid, open, flexible, absolute integrity, organizational awareness, understanding of cultural differences.
