Introduction USAID/HC3 is funded by PMI and improve the capacity of NMEP ACSM to provide effective leadership and coordination of malaria SBCC programmes an Services and to also implement high quality evidence based SBCC interventions on select states towards the achievement of Nigeria's strategic targets in Malaria.
 
Position 1: Senior Technical Advisor Provider Initiative

Reports To : Chief of Part

Based: Abuja, Nigeria.
 
Job Description:
The position will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of HCTs Health Care Provider strategies and activities designed to improve client-provider communication and increase facility related malaria prevention and treatment services.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide lech~ic3t guidance and work with the HC3 team to design interventions to innovatively up skill and motivate health care providers to be able to provide key malaria information. promote malaria diagnosis and treatment and improve uptake of focused antenatal care (FANC). PTp and long-lasting  insecticide-treated nets (LLlN) use amongst clients
Initiate innovative approaches to increase intermittent preventative treatment (lPTp I rates by health care professionals
Ensure that HC3's health care provider initiatives serve to promote adherence to the national malaria treatment guidelines at community and facility levels
Work with HC3 implementing partners to identify ongoing communication initiatives and opportunities
for health cart' providers at all levels and leverage on these opportunities
Facilitate processes tor engaging with identified relevant service providers and their professional
associations (including community agencies) towards improving adherence to national malaria policy,
guidelines and priorities.
Contribute (0 the development and implementation of HC3's innovative ami robust social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) approaches .
Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
Advanced degree in clinical medicine required
Advanced university degree in public health and experience in malaria programme management highly desirable.
Minimum of five years of' work experience in public health programme development and implementation, particularly in developing country.
Experience with SBCC, especially programs with providers as target audiences highly desirable Experience in healthcare quality improvement activities.
Knowledge and understanding of trends in Nigerian healthcare reforms
Fluency in written and spoken English required.
Proficiency in at least one local Nigerian language highly desired Ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines ill a high demand work environment
Analytical skills: Demonstrated ability to analyse complex situation", grasp the critical aspects and make timely and firm decisions based on sound judgment.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to work in a multinational and multi disciplinary environment.
Communication skills: Strong ability to draft and edit high level technical reports and It) make effective oral presentations in English.
Results oriented: Ability to consistently apply organizational policies and procedures. Ability to j,) CUS on results in programme/project design. monitoring and implementation, as well .as integrate new approaches and innovations and use funds in a cost-effective manner.
Integrity: High degree of integrity and amiable disposition in building appropriate internal and external relationships.
Relationship building: Ability to build relevant strategic partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders and partners, to identify areas of common interest and recommend opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives.

Position 2: Senior Technical Advisor Communication

Based: Abuja, Nigeria.
 
Job Description:
The Senior Technical Advisor-Communication will work closely with program staff in Nigeria and staff at CCP headquarters to lead media and materials development, adaptation and Implementanon activities for the Imlu3 USAID HC3 Nigeria Malaria Projectfunded by PMI

Duties/Responsibilities:
Specifically, Senior Technical Advisor-Communication will:
Help shape the HC3 strategy for the most effective SIlCC applications in Nigeria
Coordinate and oversee the production of mass media, print and other protect communication materials in tandem with staff and partners with a special focus on northern Nigeria
Coordinate and oversee media planning, broadcasting and materials distribution in tandem with staff and partners.
Refine in collaboration with a team a tracking system for media products and activities.
Develop micro work plans for state level adaptation of key media materials, especially in northern Nigeria
Present media and materials development and process during meetings, conferences and workshops, as appropriate.
Build media and materials capacity of staff and partners
Other duties as identified by supervisor,
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
Masters degree in communication and 01' public health 01' related field preferred. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication and documented training in SBCC
Minimum eight years experience ill Media and Communications
Experience with local adaptation of Social and Behavior ChiJrige Communication materials in the north of Nigeria.
Total fluency in Hausa, both written and spoken
Extensive knowledge of past malaria SBCC activities acrosspartrrers and dOI1'o~S·
Documented past experience with international
Experience working on USAID funded projects
Ability to work well with a multinational and rnultiethntc team .
Excellent written and oral cornmunication skills ..
Fluency in English. written and spoken.
