University College Hospital, Ibadan in Oyo State - Nigeria is currently recruiting to fill the following positions:

 
Position 1: Hospital Consultant (Emergency Medicine)

Position 2: Hospital Consultant (Oral Medicine)

Position 3: Hospital Consultant (Interventional Cardiologist)

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(A) For post 1, applicants should have a postgraduate professional Fellowship in Emergency Medicine. Postgraduate academic qualifications and publications in learned journals as well as post-qualification work experience in a tertiary or reputable institution will be an advantage.

Only those with Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from recognized institution are qualified to apply.

Note: This appointment may either be part or full time.

 

(B) For post 2, applicants should have a postgraduate professional Fellowship in Oral Medicine. Postgraduate academic qualifications and publications in learned journals as well as post­qualification work experience in a tertiary or reputable institution will be an advantage.

 

Only those with Fellowship in Oral Medicine from recognized institution are qualified to apply.

Note: This appointment may either be part or full time.

 

(C) For post 3, applicants-should have a postgraduate professional Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology. Postgraduate academic qualifications and publications in learned journals as well as post-qualification work experience in a tertiary or reputable institution will be an advantage.

Only those who have Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and are duly credentialed are qualified to apply. .

Note: This appointment may either be part or full time.



Position 4: Senior Registrar II (Post-Part I in Anaesthesia)



Position 5: Senior Registrar II (Post-Part I in Psychiatry)

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(D) For post 6, prospective candidates are expected to:

(i) be qualified Medical Practitioners

(ii) be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)

(iii) have passed the primary examination of any ofthe Postgraduate Colleges

(iv) have satisfactorily completed the NYSC programme or be duly exempted from it.

 

Candidates applying for training in the Department of Laboratory Medicine would be required to rotate through the Departments of Pathology, Haematology, Medical Microbiology and Chemical Pathology and such candidates could only decide on an area of specialization at the end of at least the first year of rotation subject to satisfactory appraisal by the Head of the respective Departments.

Successful candidates will be expected to commence residency training in accordance with the laid down rules. Establishment of private clinics and engagement in private medical practice constitute a violation of the terms of training and any resident found guilty of these will be asked to withdraw from the Training Programme.

Applicants should be ready for full-time Residency Training Programme leading to Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the Fellowship of West African College of Surgeons/Physicians.

 

(E) Applicants for post 4. in addition to the basic requirement stated in (D) above. must have passed the Part I Examination in Anaesthesia.

(F) Applicants for post 5, in addition to the basic requirement stated in (D) above, must have passed the Part I Examination in Psychiatry.





Position 6: Residency Training Programme in the following Departments listed below:



Anaesthesia, Chemical Pathology, Clinical Pharmacology, Family Medicine, Haematoloqy. Paediatrics, Medical Microbiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, Neurological Surgery. Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, OrthopaediCS & Trauma, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Plastic, Reconstructive & Anaesthetic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Radiation Oncology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Child Oral Health (Paediatric Dentistry/Orthodontics). Oral Pathology (Oral Pathology/Oral Medicine), Periodontology & Community Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry (Conservative Dentistry/ Prosthetic Dentistry), Family Dentistry, Community Medicine and Ophthalmology.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(D) For post 6, prospective candidates are expected to:

Position 7: Pharmacist Grade 1

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(G) For post 7, applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) degree from a recognized University and must have participated in the NYSC programme or be exempted from it.

Applicants must also possess the Professional Registration Certificate of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria and a current professional practicing license.



Position 8: Medical Imaging Scientist

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(H) For post 8, applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiography from a recognized University and must have participated in the NYSC programme or be exempted from it.

Applicants must also possess the Professional Registration Certificate of the Radiographers Board of Nigeria and a current professional practicing license.



Position 9: Nurse Tutor



Position 10: Nursing Officer II

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(I) For post 9, applications are invited for Nurse Tutors (Mid-wife, Mental Health, Community Health, and Public Health).

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from a recognized University registrable with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Diploma in Nursing Education or Diploma in Peri operative Nursing. Masters degree in Maternal & Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Community or Public Health Nursing would be an added advantage. In addition, candidates must have had a minimum of six years post qualification work experience. He/she must have participated in the NYSC programme or be exempted from it. Possession of a current professional practicing license is mandatory.

(J) For post 10, applicants must possess five credit passes in the WASCE/GCE/SSSCE/NECO and also possess the professional double qualifications (RN, RM or Bachelor in Nursing Science/Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing) registrable with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Possession of a current professional practicing license is mandatory.



Position 11: Biomedical Engineer

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(K) For post 11, applicants must possess a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized University. He/she must have participated in the NYSC programme or be exempted from it. Possession of an additional professional qualification of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) will be an added advantage.





Position 16: Anaesthetic Technician

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

(P) For post 16, applicants must possess four credit passes in the WASCE/GCE/SSSCE/NECO and an Anaesthetic Technician Certificate from a recognized training institution.

All applicants, except those applying for post 16, MUST have five credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) in WASCE/GCE/SSSCE/NECO at not more than TWO sittings from the same examination body.

 

Salary/Remuneration:

For posts 1, 2 & 3 - CONMESS 05 l.e. N3,622,094.00 - N4,485,461.00 p.a.

For posts 4 & 5 - CONMESS 04 i.e. N2,865,492.00 - N3,621 ,822.00 p.a.

For post 6- CONMESS 02 i.e. N1 ,562,586.00 - N1 ,945,894.00 p.a

For posts 7, 8 & 9- CONHESS 09 l.e, N1,316,488.00 - N1,902,642.00 p.a.

For posts 10, 13, 14 & 15- CONHESS 07 i.e. N959,919.00 - N1,416,392.00 p.a.

For post 11 & 12- CONHESS 08 i.e. N1, 113,650.00 - N1 ,550,392.00 p.a.
