EME Consulting (EME Group) is an active consulting firm providing services in Civil, Architectural and Mechanical Engineering from the initial investigation stages, through feasibility studies, outline planning, production of detailed designs, preparation of contract documents, and evaluation of tenders to supervision of construction in property sector through public private partnerships and privately funded initiatives.
EME Consulting (EME Group) is currently recruiting to fill the following position:
Position 1: Company Nurse
Location: Lagos State - Nigeria.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides emergency and palliative care and treatment to employees within the legal scope of nursing responsibility such as first-aid treatment, checking of vital signs, health interview, dispensing of medicine;
Assess and determine the health status of the employee which includes recommendations like sent home or back to work;
Refers/transports ill employees to the hospital as necessary;
Conducts regular inventory of medicines and medical supplies. Prepares purchase requisition of such as necessary to ensure availability at all times;
Conducts home visit or follow through of employees with chronic illnesses or on prolong sick leave;
Implements immunization programs to employees as well as to the dependents;
Conducts periodic plant tour to determine any possible health and safety hazards and work with the HSE department to create health and safety awareness among employees;
Performs health counselling;
Conducts health education programs;
Maintains employee's individual medical records with strict confidentiality;
Generates reports and submits to management or government agencies as scheduled;
Act as In-plant HMO Administrator. Coordinates with provider to resolve any issues/concerns, review and process payment;
Assess pre-employment medical examination results and coordinates status/evaluation with Recruitment;
Coordinates any work-related injuries/illnesses to Safety Officer for immediate investigation and corrective actions;
Encodes Sick Leave on time to avoid delayed payment;
Schedules and implement annual/periodic/special examination of employees. Assess results, refer to Company Physician for management, monitor recommendations and follow through until illness is cleared.
Maintains and updates patients record;
Ensure Professional Healthcare standards are followed;
Displays high confidentiality.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program;
Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred
Must be young and hardworking
Must have at least 1 year experience in industrial company as healthcare practitioner/company nurse;
Preferably with experience in hospital set-up;
Must have good moral character;
Computer literate;
Can work on shifting schedule.
Salary/Remuneration:
N50, 000 - N70, 000/Month.
Position 2: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator
Location: Lagos
Job Description:
Carry out the day to day operations of HSE department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing technical support.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.
Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance
Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.
Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned.
Comply with all Company and HSE procedures and policies.
Facility Specific Responsibilities:
Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish HSE presence and provide support.
Conduct daily and monthly HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
Write, implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures
Perform facility HSE Inspections
Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
Have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements including company HSE policies and procedures.
Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs.
Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
Perform additional duties as assigned by HSE manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be computer literate.
Prefer Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences or minimum of 1 year experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position; Technical writing a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Willing to work different shifts and travel up to 20% of the time.
Salary/Remuneration:
N90, 000 - N110, 000/Month.
