The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is a multilateral development bank (MOB) which funds its projects and other developmental activities using Islamic finance. Hence, the name "Islamic". Founded in 1975, the IsDB is headquartered in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the Bank is to foster economic development and social progress of its member countries. The IsDB has 56 member countries, the majority of which are from geographical Africa. The remainder are in Asia, Europe and Latin America. The Bank now boasts of five autonomous entities in form of a "Group". They are (i) Islamic Development Bank -lsDB; (ii) lslamic Research and Training Institute -IRTI; (iii) Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit -ICIEC; (iv) Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector -ICD; and (v) International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation - ITFC.
In its bid to nurture greater client centricity, the IsDB has established four full-fledged Regional Offices in Rabat (Morocco), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Dakar (Senegal), In addition, there are Field Representatives in 15 member countries whose main responsibility is implementation facilitation. The Bank is now in the process of opening Country Gateway Offices (CGOs) in five major member countries namely; Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Egypt. The core functions of CGOs may be summarized as strategizing, project preparation, implementation facilitation and relations building. Turkey and Indonesia CGOs are fully operational, to be followed by Nigeria. The Country Gateway Office (CGO) for Nigeria is located in the 4th Floor of Muktar EI Yakub Place at Plot 1129 along Zakari Maimalari Street, Abuja Central Business District.

Location: Nigeria
Principal Responsibility:
A high caliber, self-motivated and results-oriented professional whose primary responsibilities are to deliver the Bank's Education and Health Sector Operations in Nigeria including Identification, preparation, appraisal, implementation and supervision; and to contribute to Country strategic sector works, policy dialogue and visioning process in education and health.
Qualifications/Requirements:
M.Sc / PhD in relevant discipline from a reputable Institution
Professional qualification in Education, Health, Health Engineering, Business Administration and any relevant discipline.
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in social sectors (Education/Health Systems) and broad knowledge of all aspects of international trends in education and health sectors gained through advanced academic study and/ or special development.
Conversant with Global trends &. Challenges in Human Development
Expert in Education or Health System Organization &. Management (Management information Systems and governance)
Equity and gender issues in social sectors .
Training and professional development
Education and health sector analysis and assessment
Demonstrable Project management and operations experience
Excellent presentation, analytical, negotiation and leadership skills;
Strong knowledge of French and Arabic languages would be an added advantage.
