Subol Hospital Limited (SHL) situated in Lagos State - Nigeria is currently recruiting to fill the following position:
Position: Assistant Matron
Job Description:
General supervision of the nursing care given to the patients and all nursing activities within the nursing unit.
Observing regular rounds for including out patients and evening /night rounds.
Receiving reports from the night staff regarding the nursing care of in patient at night in the absence of matron.
Prepare monthly roaster for matron's approval showing the rotation of nursing staff in the department to ensure good nursing care.
Planning with the chief matron and other senior line managers of each department for effective administration.
Helping out in the checking of supplies and maintenance of equipment and rechecking their use and care (inventory).
Keeping the matron informed of emerging development in the department and advising as appropriate the way to address them.
Active participation in health talks, immunization, family planning, including data collection as required.
organising training programme in your specialty in consultation with the HCS or Doctor in charge and Matron.
Assisting in planning for and participating in training of new recruits in need of close monitoring.
To plan and implement a proper orientation for all new personnel posted to the department.
Taking on, special medical visitors round the department facility and personnel.
Coordinate/monitor ambulance services and inventory of the material/equipment involved.
