Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the academic/non-academic staff positions in the Faculties/Departments as indicated below:

Position 1: Senior Pharmacy Assistant

Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Department: Medical/Health

Area of Specialization/Need:
Medical/Health Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Nursing.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant should possess (5) credit pass in relevant subjects GCE O/L WAEC, NECO or approved equivalent at not more than 2 (two) sittings including English Language.
Must acquire National Certificate for Health Assistant in School of technology with three (3) years of experience in the field.

Position 2: Nursing Officer II

Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Department: Medical/Health

Area of Specialization/Need:
Medical/Health Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Nursing

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant should possess Nursing and Midwifery or Psychiatric Certificates registered with the Nursing Council of Nigeria plus (1) One year post qualification experience.

Position 3: Pharmacist II

Location: Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Department: Medical/Health

Area of Specialization/Need:
Medical/Health Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Nursing

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant should possess a Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification with evidence of registration with the pharmacist council of Nigeria/Pharmacy Board of Nigeria.

Position 4: Medical Officer II

Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Department: Medical/Health

Area of Specialization/Need:
Medical/Health Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Nursing

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant should possess Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS, MBB, CH, MD) and evidence of registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
Applicant should have at least 1 (One) year working experience in a recognized hospital.

Position 5: Professor

Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Faculty: Natural and Applied Science

Department: Biological Science(Marine Biology)

Area of Specialization/Need:
Marine Chemistry, Marine Pollution, Marine Analytical Techniques, Marine Biology.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must possess the basic qualification of First School Leaving and the O’Level Certificate with five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for the relevant discipline respectively, and must be holder of Ph.D. with at least 12 (twelve) years of post qualification teaching experience in relevant discipline applied for Appointment to the position of Professor shall be on the basis of distinguished and continuing contributions to scholarship expressed mainly in the form of a substantial body of distinguished research publications.
    Therefore, applicant must show evidence of research, competence, and productivity through quality publications with ability to provide academic and administrative leadership.

Position 6: Professor

Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Faculty: Natural and Applied Science

Department: Biological Science(Genetics/Biotechnology)

Area of Specialization/Need:
Enzymology, Process Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must possess the basic qualification of First School Leaving and the O’Level Certificate with five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for the relevant discipline respectively, and must be holder of Ph.D. with at least 12 (twelve) years of post qualification teaching experience in relevant discipline applied for Appointment to the position of Professor shall be on the basis of distinguished and continuing contributions to scholarship expressed mainly in the form of a substantial body of distinguished research publications.

Position 7: Professor

Location: Akwa Ibom State - Nigeria.

Faculty: Natural and Applied Science

Department: Biological Science(Zoology)

Area of Specialization/Need:
Fisheries & Aquaculture, Applied  Entomology, Parasitology, Zoology.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must possess the basic qualification of First School Leaving and the O’Level Certificate with five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for the relevant discipline respectively, and must be holder of Ph.D. with at least 12 (twelve) years of post qualification teaching experience in relevant discipline applied for Appointment to the position of Professor shall be on the basis of distinguished and continuing contributions to scholarship expressed mainly in the form of a substantial body of distinguished research publications.

Position 8: Professor

Department: Biological Science(Microbiology)

Area of Specialization/Need:
Medical Virology/Tissue Culture, Petroleum Microbiology, Mycology, Food Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must possess the basic qualification of First School Leaving and the O’Level Certificate with five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for the relevant discipline respectively, and must be holder of Ph.D. with at least 12 (twelve) years of post qualification teaching experience in relevant discipline applied for Appointment to the position of Professor shall be on the basis of distinguished and continuing contributions to scholarship expressed mainly in the form of a substantial body of distinguished research publications.

Paleontology, Igneous and/or Metamorphic Petrology, Crystallography/Mineralogy, Subsurface Geology

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicants must possess the basic qualification of First School Leaving and the O’Level Certificate with five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for the relevant discipline respectively, and must be holder of Ph.D. with at least 12 (twelve) years of post qualification teaching experience in relevant discipline applied for Appointment to the position of Professor shall be on the basis of distinguished and continuing contributions to scholarship expressed mainly in the form of a substantial body of distinguished research publications.

Position 10: Safety Officer II

Applicants should be holder of first Degree or HND in any discipline plus a professional certificate in Safety Management.

Position 11: Health Assistant

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant must acquire National Certificate for Health Assistant in School of Health Technology. Also, with 5 (Five) credit in relevant subjects including English Language.
