A Nigerian Nurse was arrested on wednesday just as she was about escaping New York to board a flight to Nigeria days after she allegedly killed a disabled toddler. On Thursday April 21st, 2015, the grandmother of the deceased toddler, Gardite Mondesire hired 54-year-old Oluyemisi Adebayo to look after her disabled grandchild but sadly, the baby died after being submerged in hot water.

The suspect, Oluyemisi Adebayo told police detectives that she noticed Naomi Mondesire’s leg was peeling off after she placed her in bath water but police faulted her claim during their interrogation session.
She was accused of being inconsistent in her narration of the incident.
Adebayo was accused of submerging the disabled child in a 130 degree water for 30 seconds. The victim was said to have died of thermal injuries to
50% of her body on Monday the 25th of April 2015, 3 days after doctors performed an emergency life-saving surgery on her.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday around 7am while trying to flee the US to Nigeria. She was detained briefly before Policemen were called in to arrest her.

According to the information on her LinkedIn page, she has over 16 years of experience as a licensed nurse practitioner.

If convicted, she could face up to 25 years in prison.

HWN.......may the soul of the innocent baby rest in peace and may God comfort her mother and grandma!
