A tot of whisky each evening is the secret to long life according to Grace Jones, who has just celebrated her 109th birthday.
Mrs Jones has had a small glass each night for the past 57 years.
And she believes her longevity is also down to moving house 27 times, before finally settling down in a retirement apartment at Pegasus Court, Broadway.
Mrs Jones, the youngest of three sisters, celebrated her milestone birthday with family and friends at Buckland Manor near Broadway yesterday, where she enjoyed a reception followed by lunch in the morning room.
In the 1920s, Mrs Jones owned a millinery factory in her home city of Liverpool and met her husband Leonard, a chief engineer.
They had one daughter, Deirdre, and spent most of their married life moving around the country.
Mrs Jones has lived through the reign of five monarchs.
She was born when Edward VII, Queen Victoria's heir, was on the throne and she has seen 22 different prime ministers in Number 10.
The Liberal Party was in power when Mrs Jones was born – only returned to government, in a different form, in 2010 after 78 years.
Powered flight was a novelty and space travel was a wild dream when Mrs Jones was born.
HG Wells published his 'fantastical story' The First Men in the Moon, only five years before her birth.
And Mrs Jones was already 62 when the Apollo 11 flight touched down.
Mrs Jones is the country's 28th oldest person.
Her daughter, Deirdre, is a trained cabaret singer, dancer and pianist who worked under her mother's maiden name of Grace Rich.
Deirdre now lives in Winchcombe and said she is "very proud" of her mother.
