Dodo Mayana goes home on HWN ENTERTAINMENT

One of late Afrobeat King, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s dancers, Dodo Mayana, is dead.

She was reportedly found dead at Grammar School Bustop, Omole, Lagos.

Dodo, a popular woman at the Afrika Shrine, used to dance for Fela until his demise. Then she joined Femi Kuti’s band as a cage dancer before she retired and started selling drinks at the shrine.

Details about her death are sketchy as reports claim she was hit by a hit-and-run driver but Femi Kuti who minutes ago confirmed her death said she was a victim of ‘one-chance’ robbers who mugged her and left her dead in the middle of the road.

According to Femi, none of her personal effects were found on her corpse.
