Rose Mbula Nduva went to India last year and was taken to hospital several months after arrival with badly injured head. Although the details of the incident remain sketchy, doctors said that the woman somehow fell off a skycraper collapsing her skull.
In order to save Rose’s life surgeons remove her skull bones and placed it inside her stomach to keep it safe until her recovery. Such a procedure is commonly used by doctors to maintain bones viability, safe in the knowledge that they won’t be rejected.
It took two months for Rose to come out of the coma and be allowed to travel to her parents’ home in Kilimambogo, Ol Donyo Sabuk. Since then she was under the care of her mother, as she lost her memory and some bodily functions.
Her family made everything possible to raise funds for the pricey reconstruction surgery and therapy but they still need an impressive amount of money and hope kind people would not stay indifferent to their misfortune.
