Four people are reportedly dead as cholera outbreak has hit Ebonyi State, South East of Nigeria.
Many people are said to be undergoing treatment in hospitals in the towns, while those in rural communities patronise herbal homes in search of cure.
Health watchers in the state attribute the outbreak to lack of good drinking water, even as many people now go to far places in search of water.
Those in rural areas, it was gathered, rely solely on pond water, which is unhealthy to drink.
In Izzia community, residents reportedly share the pond water with grazing animals, with the possibility of becoming infected.
Cholera outbreak has also been reported in Ngbo and Okposi communities, while it is feared that the situation may be more severe than being reported as some of the victims may not have made official reports in hospitals.
