The home-based duo of David Obiozor and Nelson Ogbonnaya of Heartland of Owerri have been ruled out of African Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on September due to injury.
The two players were part of the 23-man list released by Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh earlier this week.
The coach has however revealed that no replacement would be called up for the injured duo.
The players are nursing injuries and after thorough examination by the Super Eagles’ medics, it was agreed that it is best to allow them some time to rest and return to their clubs.

Coach Oliseh will call up replacements for the duo very soon,” a team official said
Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Solomon Kwambe, Chima Akas, Jamiu Alimi, Stephen Eze, Gbolahan Salami, Tunde Adeniji, Bright Ejike, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ifeanyi Matthew, Usman Mohammed, Lordson Ichull, Prince Aggrey and Bright Onyedikachi were in the Eagles’ camp as that the time of this report and the numbers are expected to swell with the invitation of 18 fogiegn-based professionals.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed that it has tidied up all arrangements surrounding the game.
