A Danish man – named by Danish newspaper BT as 63-year-old Peter Frederiksen – will appear in court charged with sexual assault after police made the grisly discovery at his home in South Africa.
Cops raided his house after his wife – who is from the African kingdom of Lesotho – told them he drugged her and cut off her genitalia.
Police have confirmed the body parts – found wrapped in plastic freezer bags and labelled – are from 21 different women.
Police spokesman Hangwani Mulaudzi told the Danish tabloid: "We have found 21 genitals from 21 women.
The man's wife is one of the women. We are now investigating who the other 20 are.
Police also confiscated surgical equipment, anaesthetic and a large collection of photographs at the house.
Forensic experts are investigating if the body parts were taken from Frederiksen's alleged victims while the women were dead or alive.
Frederiksen – who owns a gun shop in Bloemfontein – previously boasted about performing genital mutilation to Danish journalists.
In a radio interview he claimed to have performed the controversial surgery on his wife – and her friend.
He claimed to have been taught by notorious Danish quack Jorn Ege – known as Dr Penis for his enlargement surgery.
Masilela Langa – another police spokesman – said Frederiksen – who fled Denmark to South Africa to avoid a trial for illegal possession of weapons in 2006 – kept a record of every body part, who it belonged to and when it was removed.
His first alleged victim was in 2010.
Langa told Netwerk24: "It is now important that we get from the man's victims. At this stage we do not know how many women there are, as there are many, many photos.
We are engaged in research and to question the man.
It is as if he knew his victims and knew where to look for them.
