Ugbodaga, a matron at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Mrs.  Anne Usman and an health worker, Mr. Sunny Omo- Alasa,  who were abducted last week by suspected kidnappers at Ekwe community in Isu local council area of Imo State, have been rescued by a crack team of policemen led by state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Taiwo Lakanu.

The trio were among the 18 medical personnel that moved from Lagos to undertake a free medical mission organized by the Dr. Mamudu Dako’s Foundation before they were kidnapped.

The free medical outreach slated for October 17 to 19 was partially disrupted when the abductors carted away about 300 eye glasses and hepatitis and tetanus injections, among others items meant for the patients.

It was that the police commissioner and some officers of the  force anti- kidnapping unit, slept in the bush, in a location around Mbaitoli local council area of the state, for several nights while on the trail of  the kidnappers until they got close to the area the victims were kept and rescued them.
