Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh was flown out to Belgium to see his personal physician as a result of his deteriorating health condition on Thursday evening.
A close source to the coach said: "As I speak with you now Oliseh has left the Port Harcourt camp of the Super Eagles and has been hurriedly flown to Belgium via Lufthansa. Oliseh's health condition has really worsened.
I have never seen Oliseh in this very worrisome health situation like this since about three decades that I have been close to him. I am praying fervently to Almighty God to save him and give him speedy recovery," the source disclosed.
The Nigeria Football Federation had earlier said that the coach would be unavailable for last weekend’s first leg CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso only for the trainer to show up in Port Harcourt.
Perhaps the strain of the camp schedule affected him further and led to the deterioration of the illness that has plagued him for a few weeks.
Oliseh is not expected to lead the CHAN Eagles to the return leg qualifier in Ougadougou this weekend.
The NFF has stated that assistant coach Salisu Yusuf will take charge of the game.
