The two nurses from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital who were kidnapped by gun men last week have regained freedom.
Chairman of National Association of Nigeria nurses and midwives UBTH, Mr. Austin Osigbeme who confirmed their release, however, expressed silence whether or not a ransom was paid.
Recall that the nurses, Mrs. Osemelu Lydia and Ovbiosu Bose, both said to be nursing mothers, nursesarena.com were abducted last Wednesday at Oluku, a suburb community of Benin City, located in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State on their way home, after picking up their children from school.
According to Osigbeme, the abductors contacted family members of the victims and demanded the sum of N15 million and N2 million respectively for their release.
Their release has brought smile on the faces of nurses at the hospital in particular and their family in general.
