A 43-year-old husband, Mr Olumuyiwa Owolabi, on Tuesday urged an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve his 11-year-old marriage to his wife, Tinuola, over alleged adultery.

Owolabi, who resides at 14, Fasahu Crescent, Similoluwa, Ado-Ekiti, alleged that his wife engaged in adultery, citing two instances.

He told the court he was compelled to seize the phone of his wife and send her away due to her acts of adultery.

She travelled to Lagos with the children only for me to find out that she travelled with another man and she did not come back with the children.

It was when the children resumed in school that I went to beg my mother-in-law to help me appeal to her to release the children to go back to school,’’ he said.

He prayed the court to award the custody of the children to him because of their mother’s lifestyle.

But the respondent denied the allegations levelled against her, saying the men linked to her were a childhood acquaintance, inlaws and Facebook friends.

Tinuke also said her husband was in the habit of beating her, adding that she was once hospitalised due to violent attacks on her.

He does not provide food for us in the house anymore, but he paid the children’s school fees, ” she said.

The President of the court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, adjourned the case till Sept. 7 for further hearing.
