Professor Charles Ifeanyi Umeh divorces wife on HWN MARR

Ebonyi State high court sitting in Abakaliki at the weekend dissolved a six-year-old marriage between Professor Charles Ifeanyi Umeh, a Chemical Engineer and lecturer at Atlantic University, Georgia USA, and his wife, Chinelo Charles Umeh a banker in Nigeria.

The couple wedded on 11th December, 2009 in Enugu after some years of courtship.

Umeh had accused Chinelo of keeping company of some persons that made him uncomfortable which he said led to his mental and health breakdown.

He told the court that he had been constantly quarrelling with the woman over the matter.

I married my wife in 2009 in Nigeria. I promised to be visiting home regularly to be seeing her since I stay abroad where I am working.

Each time I came home to see my wife; I will see her with people I don’t expect to be seeing in my matrimonial home.

Because of this, I broke down both mentally and health wise, yet my wife did not care about my condition,” he said.
