A 19-year-old convinced that she's pregnant with baby Jesus appeared on the Dr. Phil show Wednesday in hope of getting the host's help and support — despite her mother and sister making it very clear that they think she's delusional.
As Haley explained in a video prior to the family's interview with Dr. Phil, despite six pregnancy tests coming back negative, she is convinced that she is nine months along and carrying the child of God. She also claimed she has felt the fetus kicking inside of her.
I know my pregnancy is real. I’ve gained at least 22 pounds, she said. "I was sleeping one night and my baby punched the bottom of my stomach and kicked me, and I can feel his head right here, right below my belly button.
My family, my friends, my pastors at church, they don’t believe that I’m pregnant," she continued. "I know it’s Jesus. I don’t care if my family disowns me. It really comes down to if you’re a true believer in Jesus or not … I don’t care what the home pregnancy test or a doctor says, when I give birth to my baby, no one is going to deny him because he’s my savior.
Meanwhile, Haley's mother Kristi insisted her daughter is not pregnant, but that she's instead both a "delusional" and a "compulsive liar" for attention. In other clips from the show, she and her sister list off some of the other things Haley has lied about, including an appearance on American Idol and that Eminem is her father.
But is Haley telling the truth this time — if not about baby Jesus, then at least about her pregnancy? Tune in to The Dr. Phil Show on Thursday to find out, when the 19-year-old will receive an ultrasound from Dr. Travis Stork of The Doctors.
