Ace broadcaster and popular On Air Personality with Classic FM, Sylvester Ojigbede, famously known as Sly is dead.
Ojigbede passed away last night after a protracted battle with an unknown ailment that affected his spinal cord.
His mentor, Tintin Imevbore confirmed his death in a terse tribute on Facebook.
The short biography of the late anchorman obtained from Classic FM website reads:
Born in the 70’s, Grew in the 80’s, Rocked the 90’s and stil rocking; Sly has been a lover of music as early as he could pronounce the word.
His appreciation for music is often attributed to his father whose LPs, 8 track cartridges and cassettes kept him “musically satisfied” as a child; and his siblings who kept the desire for music burning in him.
A graduate of Economics from the University of Lagos, Sly’s work experience has seen him work in Advertising & Mortgage & Commercial banking. The love for quality music brought him to Classic FM 97.3 and he has been an integral team member ever since. His preferred genres of music include Hip Hop/Rap Music, R n B, Soul, Funk, Dance, Reggae & Neo-Soul.
