Dog meat kills five persons in Rivers state on HWN SPOTLIGHT

No fewer than five persons have been pronounced dead after eating dog meat at an eatery in Woji, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that the killer dog meat was cooked by one Friday Dickson, also known as Etiaba, who has been in the area for a long time, cooking only dog meat in Mini-Woji Road at Woji Town.

A member of the community, Mr Brian Ogbondah, disclosed that five people were confirmed dead few hours after eating the dog meat prepared by Etiaba.

Ogbondah further stated that the death of the five victims led to an emergency meeting by the council of chiefs and elders in the community, with a view of identifying the others who ate the said dog meat.

He also stated that Etiaba absconded from the community following the death of the five persons.
