Bauchi State is the latest to confirm the Lassa fever outbreak.
Two out of twenty suspected cases that had been under investigation have tested positive to the virus.
In a statement, the Director of Press Affairs, Danbaba Umar, advised members of the public to report any case of fever that has not responded to the conventional anti- malaria or typhoid fever treatment to the nearest health care facility.
The statement further called for calm, with an assurance that the State Ministry of Health and State Primary Health Care Development Agency have put in place measures towards curtailing the spread of the virus.
The measures include the establishment of an isolation centre at the state Infectious Disease Hospital in Bayara to ease the management and treatment of the disease.
