Jose Mourinho case with Chelsea medical team and FIFA on HWN SPORTS

The last has not been heard of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s stinging criticism and subsequent treatment of the Chelsea medical team, following the 2-2 opening day home draw with Swansea.

Chelsea had goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois early in the second half and in the closing stages, Eva Carneiro and head physio Jon Fearn rushed onto the pitch to attend to Eden Hazard and forced Chelsea to be reduced to 9 men.

Jose Mourinho was angered by what he described as an “impulsive and naive” move and Eva Carneiro had her role in the team downgraded.

FIFA’s medical committee will now meet on September 11, and is expected to discuss Carneiro and declare its support of team doctors, who act in the best interest of players.
